chesley-mommy-birthdaycake chesleys-birthday-dinner Chesley turned 6 years old this week. We had a great family birthday party with hot dogs, macaroni and cheese, cake, ice cream, decorations, presents, and much more!

It’s hard to believe our little boy is growing up so fast. Chesley is an “A” student doing very well in math and impressing us with his excellent ability to read. These days he is often outside riding his bike. When he’s inside he enjoys doodling with paper and pencil. He is also great help around the house folding laundry, setting the table, and taking out the trash.

Happy Birthday Chesley! We love you!

We celebrated Kaden’s 3rd birthday! Denise made a Curious George birthday cake, Kaden’s favorite cartoon character. We enjoyed cake and ice cream, a water gun fight, bubbles, and more.

Happy 3rd Birthday Kaden!

Karl and his brother Jeff, had fun setting off fireworks. Then we made our way into Mason to watch the show they do every year at the Ingham County Fairgrounds.

Check out the pictures from the 2008 and 2007 fireworks! This is now the 6th year we have watched the them from our special parking spot where we can make a quick getaway without the traffic!

So… about 8 months ago I was telling someone that I had been married 6 years when she responded with, “Wow, good for you, staying together for so long.”

I couldn’t help but feel a little sad by her statement. Could 6 years really be considered “so long“? If we get married to spend our lifetime together, then 6 years is only the beginning!

Today is our 7 year anniversary and it’s hard to believe. I couldn’t imagine my life without Karl. I love him so much! We’ve gone through so much together and have made so many memories. I’m looking forward to all the ones we’ll make in the future!

Happy Anniversary Karl!

So what do lilacs and Applebees have in common?…that’s what my Mother’s Day consisted of!

I have been a ‘Mom’ for 5 years now and wouldn’t trade it for the world! I love my boys and I love to care for them! Sometimes that means changing diapers, and always it means lots of work …but that’s what Moms do! It’s all worth it when their smiling little faces look at you and say, “I love you Mommy!”

We had a wonderful Christmas break! Karl’s brother, Jeff and family flew out to Michigan for the holidays. They have an adorable one month old daughter, Hannah. We are enjoying spending time with them and having all the family together for Christmas this year!
