While visiting the farm Kaden enjoyed playing with all the cats and kittens looking for attention. It was adorable the way he would carry around the kittens and talk to them like they were his babies.

There was one kitten in particular that we all fell in love with and laughed about bringing her home. Little did we know that one week later we would do just that.

On Monday we brought home our new 4 month old kitty and named her Tiny Peaches Herrick, or just “Peaches.”

We visited a dairy farm recently and the boys enjoyed seeing the cows, calves, ducks, barn cats, and tractors. There is so much to see, plenty of stuff to explore, and lots of wide open space. Isn’t that every little boy’s dream?

While we were at the fair we stopped by the Petting Zoo. It was a small caged in area filled with goats, donkeys, rabbits, ducks, chickens, pigs, and llamas. The animal feed was over priced at $1 for a small cup. But it was worth the money!

The boys had so much fun walking around and petting the animals. Kaden especially enjoyed it finding grass to feed the lama (as seen in the picture) and getting face to face with the rabbit to say hi. It was terribly cute to watch!

Karl came home from work with a painted turtle who we named PT, after his brother’s childhood pet turtle. Chesley and Kaden were delighted to have the turtle in our bathtub for a few hours! He was rescued from the the middle of the road where he had been trying to sun bathe. We took him to a nearby creek and let him go. PT was a cute little guy and we will all miss him.

Sunshine, or Sunny for short, is our yellow American parakeet and Buddy is our cockatiel. We have had them for a month now and they are officially members of our family. We all love watching them interact and play. Sunny is a very social little guy and is very good with the kids. He’s also a little climber who can’t sit still. Buddy is more serious and usually content to watch us. Karl likes to work on the computer with Buddy on his shoulder. We also enjoy all the noises they make. It feels more like we’re in the jungle with all their chirping!

On Saturday we went to a park and brought some old bread. Any ideas what the bread was for?

You got it, we wanted to feed some birds. The only bird we could find who was interested was a large white goose. He seemed to be hungry, but he hissed a lot making sure we kept our distance.  The boys had a good time running off some energy and playing at the playground.
