For me, this was the highlight of our trip to Washington. Karl and I left the boys with their Aunt and Uncle for two nights while we took off for a quick trip to Seattle, WA.

It was a great chance to spend some alone time and enjoy our friendship! We stayed in a nice hotel, visited the Pike Place Market, got to see the Space Needle, and walked through the Olympic Sculpture Park.

As you can see… we had a great time visiting with Jeff, Amber, and Hannah while in Washington. They graciously allowed us to stay with them the entire visit. The highlights of our time with them include: our picnic dinner, playing euchre, Karl and Jeff’s time on the golf course, a fantastic Mexican restuarant, Jeff’s insatiable appetite for video games, a curious “bag of burgers”, and just hanging out.

On Tuesday we left home and drove to Chicago. We flew to Minneapolis, Denver, and then finally Pasco, Washington. The hardest part was trying to keep track of all our luggage as well as our two boys. It was a long day and we were glad to have made it. Chesley and Kaden really enjoyed the flights and did very well.

We have been spending the week visiting and hanging out with Jeff, Amber, and Hannah. (There will be more pictures to come!) We speak at two churches tomorrow. Please pray that it goes well.

We had a wonderful Christmas break! Karl’s brother, Jeff and family flew out to Michigan for the holidays. They have an adorable one month old daughter, Hannah. We are enjoying spending time with them and having all the family together for Christmas this year!

Thanksgiving break was a real break from the every day usual. We made a trip north and visited family in Guelph, Ontario as well as Deanna (Denise’s sister) in Durham, Ontario. Most of the weekend was spent at the New Tribes Mission Headquarters in Durham where we stayed in a guest room. There was lots of snow and we were prepared with snow gear and a sled. We had a great time!!

It’s been a week full of memories! We’re house sitting for Mom and Dad Haynes and get to have the place all to ourselves. As you can see from the pictures, we’re having lots of fun!
