Here http://bit.ly/uuiWU6 I have tested Android x86 3.2 Honeycomb on different netbooks.

And here http://bit.ly/tLtxPW I describe how to obtain and run the 1st x86 port of Ice cream sandwich (Android 4.0) in Virtualbox. Still not full functional, but a nice test bed.

Thanks for the info, one small point, after using the time machine GUI the bundle will be mounted and you will get a temporarly unavailable error.

You need to go into Disk Utility, right click on $hostname.sparsebundle and unmount/eject it before resizing.

Thanks for the good and short tutorial.

Found it helpfull.

I'd like to mention, that if you are looking for

a filesystem backup util in Linux, you maybe want try LVM!

With LVM snapshots you can minimize the downtime of a

running system when taking the backup.

Further you can then copy, tar, cpio or rsync the LVM snapshot.

I imagine it would work fine. The only consideration I would take in to account is the different frequencies that 3G operates on (800/1900 MHz etc.). Also, I think for practical reasons, you would probably only use this from a fixed location with the frequency of your local tower already known. Would the focal point math have to be a little different than if using 2.4/5 GHz WIFI?

Here's someone who has done it: <a href="http://geobray.com/2010/02/07/woktenna-for-3g/" rel="nofollow">http://geobray.com/2010/02/07/woktenna-for-3g/</a>

The drive that you are imaging has to be unmounted for the process to work so if you are going to image your primary boot partition you should boot from a live CD. Once you get the commands down dd + SSH is better than Norton Ghost and a lot cheaper.

This post is about imaging /dev/hda. If you are booted from /dev/hda, than I don't think that it would be a good idea to try and image it (nor am I sure it is even possible... haven't tried)... because you would have partitions mounted, that you are trying to image.

Files would be changing, just by being booted off of the drive. Though you could be booted off of /dev/hda and image /dev/sda, or some other device.

So, I had to remove CS4 due to the organization providing it needing it elsewhere. Am I sad? Not because I don't have Photoshop or Dreamweaver... Ha!

It would have been nice to delve into some Flash development, but hey, there's always HTML5 right? ;-)

How does performance compare with your cantenna? Or maybe that's an apples and oranges comparison because you're using the USB dongle and connecting the cantenna to a totally different adapter.

Anyhow using a wok cover is a great idea. Bet it's aluminum, which is probably better than steel for this. Do they sell these covers separate from woks?

Hi Karl,

the current release of Exch available on addons.mozilla.org seems to be broken. I can't place the toolbar button, the sidebar entry doesn't appear in the menu at all, and the configuration dialog brings an error about some entity (sorry, no idea about that stuff). Do you have any idea what's going on? And could you send me a working release to my email address? I love Exch, and the alternative addons are simply not as useful.

Thanks, and best wishes,

Steffen

Interesting! Deb's cousin dropped his resulting in a few cracks. He sold it to us, we put a screen cover on it and works great! The crack isn't very distracting either. We jailbroke it and plan on using it in Guinea as a phone.

Thanks.

The cool part about this is that you can put regular Windows shell commands inside a bash script if desired. Unfortunately, this "clear" script will not work if you are ssh'ing in from another machine... but it will work locally as described above.

So, in case this would be interesting for you, could you please contact me?

Yeah... there have been some serious bugs this morning. The mail styles kept switching on me, and one guy wrote on Slashdot that Yahoo sent him this email,

"You are currently exceeding your Yahoo! Mail storage quota by a very large amount. You are only allowed -2048.0MB of storage but you are currently using 0.0MB of storage. Your account has been temporarily disabled from receiving new messages.

The easiest way to continue receiving your important email is to expand your mailbox. Yahoo! Mail offers 10, 25, 50 and 100MB of storage space starting at just $9.99/year."

He commented on how Yahoo obviously wanted him to contribute storage to them!
Hopefully the bugs will be ironed out soon. :-)

I'm looking to get an email account too... maybe I should join up with the Translations or Answers.

I have heard you can get a GMail invitation in the following ways:

1) Being a frequent Blogger.com user.
2) Having a Google Translations account.
3) Having a Google Answers account.
4) Through Gmail (this hasn't worked for me)
5) Buying/Trading one from someone else.
