We went raspberry picking on Saturday. Had a great time getting out together, picking them, and taste testing them!

Have you ever been raspberry picking this time of the year? For some reason, I never knew this was raspberry season. I always thought it was earlier in the summer, like when the wild ones are ripe. (I believe that was in July.) Ok, what about this… Have you ever heard of golden raspberries? I haven’t! But they had some, and they were a bit milder… tasted good!

We enjoy making semi-regular trips to Karl’s Grandmother’s hosue in Mason. Just yesterday we were there enjoying each other’s company on the porch swing, relaxing in the unseasonbly warm weather for this time of year. She really enjoys seeing the smiling faces of Chesley and Kaden… we love you Grandma!

The first half of the week I spent all my free time doing what my Mom use to beg me to join her in… putting together a puzzle. This time I was the one alone at the table trying to find the missing piece, or aimlessly trying to put pieces together, hoping one of them will be a match. So I’ve got to ask, why did I do a puzzle? Is it because I miss my Mom? She’s the queen of puzzles…, packing suitcases, and loading the trailer. She always good at getting it all to fit just so. Am I really just more like her than I realize? Or is it just a sign that I’m aging? Any ideas?
