The Lamb, Our Lamb

Around this time of the year I find myself replaying the story in this book called The Lamb.

In Old Testament times the Israelites had to bring a lamb to an altar to die in order to pay for their sin. But this was not a long term solution. They continually had to bring another lamb every time they sinned. But Jesus was the final lamb. No longer do we have to bring a lamb every time we sin. Jesus paid for all our sin. Jesus is the Lamb, our Lamb!

Happy Easter everyone!

(For any of you who have never heard of this book, it is really great.)

Beauty in the Cold

I know you may be tired of the cold and longing for spring. But, last week I woke up to a fresh coat of snow on the ground and was once again in awe of the beauty of God’s creation.

He spreads snow like a white fleece, he scatters frost like ashes, He broadcasts hail like birdseed— who can survive his winter? Then he gives the command and it all melts; he breathes on winter—suddenly it’s spring!
Psalm 147:16-18

Check out our new home! Yes, we moved… well, temporarily. We were house/dog-sitting this last week for Mom and Dad Haynes while they’re in Florida on vacation. It was a long drive for Karl to work in comparison to his normal 3 minute commute, but we enjoyed having a whole house to ourselves! (…not to mention a yard to play!) Can you tell?

Last spring we took a trip to Holland, MI to get out and enjoy the warmer weather. But this time we were there to visit family. Two weekends ago we drove out to Holland and saw Uncle Mark, Aunt Alisa, and Sarah. Uncle Mark took a painting job out there last fall and we hadn’t seen them since the move. We love you guys!
