Miss Murphy
Thursday, July 24th, 2008Murphy is Mom Haynes' cat. She is very independent, like most cats are. She lives outside most of the summer and enjoys sitting in the shade of our car or sun tanning on our hood every time we visit. She often likes to come up behind me while I'm gardening asking for some attention. I then nearly jump out of my skin cause I didn't know she was there. I'm not a huge pet person, but over the years I've come to appreciate Murphy.
Our Garden
Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008The Herricks have our own garden this year. It's been a lot of fun to plant it, weed it, and tending to it. Karl and I have put a lot of work into it and find it relaxing. We have been quite adventuresome in what all we planted. There are 16 tomato plants, zucchini, summer squash, acorn squash, cucumbers, peppers, fennel, snap peas, green beans, potatoes, radishes, carrots, watermelon, and strawberries. Many of those we've never grown before but it's fun to try new things. We are already beginning to enjoy the harvest of our work! Yum, yum!
