This 4th of July we watched fire works near the Ingham County Fairgrounds for the 5th year! We even have a favorite spot to watch from. It's fun to be developing our own family traditions!

Happy Canada Day to all those fellow Canadians out there!!

Here are a few interesting facts about Canada…

  • The life expectancy in Canada according to recent studies show men live to be to the average of 77 years where as the women have a longer life expectancy and live to be around 84 years.
  • The US buys more oil from Canada than from Saudi Arabia.
  • Winnie the Pooh was inspired by an orphaned bear cub, which was purchased from a trapper at White River by Captain Harry Colebourn, during WW I.

The Lamb, Our Lamb

Around this time of the year I find myself replaying the story in this book called The Lamb.

In Old Testament times the Israelites had to bring a lamb to an altar to die in order to pay for their sin. But this was not a long term solution. They continually had to bring another lamb every time they sinned. But Jesus was the final lamb. No longer do we have to bring a lamb every time we sin. Jesus paid for all our sin. Jesus is the Lamb, our Lamb!

Happy Easter everyone!

(For any of you who have never heard of this book, it is really great.)

You may remember our home-made Christmas tree that we used last year. Well, we decided to drag it out for one last year before we toss it. So… it sits in our living room and is the topic of conversation when guests drop in. :) Hope you enjoy these pictures by the tree.
