Last week we moved into our new home. We're now living just a few blocks away from our old place at Pinehurst Townhomes. We're already enjoying the extra privacy and space that our new place has. We've been told that the tenants before us fed the many chipmunks that run around here. So, this morning I threw out a small hand full of cereal hoping to see a chipmunk up close. I knew the boys would love it! But to my surprise we attracted a rather a very brave squirrel who greatly enjoyed the nut clusters in the cereal.

We're Moving

You may have heard… we're moving! The new apartment is closer to where Karl works and is bit cheaper also. Other than that, it's pretty much the same as the place we've been living at. We get the keys to our new apartment on Monday and then have 5 days to move all of our stuff and clean the old one. There's a lot to do but the process is started and there's no turning back now! :) If you need our new address, just send us a quick email.

Settling Down

Wednesday, January 24th, 2007

We've been here in this apartment since October, but just in the last month have I really settled down. Let me tell you what I've been up to…

I sometimes drive the back way to get places now, because I'm beginning to know my way around better and like to bypass the traffic filled roads. (We live right on the edge of the city, down the road from the Lansing Mall!)

Where we are living now is a different county than where we have lived before, so I had to get a new library card for the local library. I've begun taking Chesley to the story time every Wednesday, getting us out and seeing other people when it's too cold to be outside.

I have been starving for fellowship with other women. When I found online that a local church had a women's ministry called Moms and More every Friday morning, I showed up. They are doing a book study on “Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World”, a book already owned. Once I found out they provided child care it was a no-brainer decision. I went for the first time two weeks ago not knowing anyone there. There were over 50 other women there! I really enjoyed getting out and meeting new people. Can't say I have any new friends yet, but that will come. Chesley really enjoys being with other kids his age too. He really misses the Preschool at New Tribes in Durham so this is a chance for him to play with other kids.

I can't say I don't have discontent moments with where God has me today. But step by step my heart is settled as God shows me what He want me to do.

New Home

Check it out! We recently moved into our own place! Karl and I found an apartment near the place where he works. I have been busy finding a place where everything belongs. We are mostly settled in now and enjoying our new home! Here are the photos of our new apartment.
