Quality Time

boys-sleddingThis week, while Karl has been away for meetings, the boys and I have been spending quality time together.

We played with legos for over two hours last night and stayed up WAY too late! But, it was fun. Chesley, Kaden, and I have been going out and playing together in the snow too. What a joy it is to love them by taking time to do something they enjoy.

You know, I think I should do it more often.

After a long day on Friday packing up our remaining stuff into boxes, loading two trucks and trailers, cleaning our apartment, and then finally handing in our keys we were ready to go. On Saturday we made the drive to Durham, Ontario with the help of Mom and Dad Haynes. We have unloaded all of our stuff and are now settling into our new home.

Thank you so much for all your prayers as we made this move!

This last Sunday we visited Grace Bible Fellowship Church in Reading, PA. It was great to re-connect with people I haven’t seen in 14 years! What a surprise to see Heather who was a very close friend of mine when we were about 10 years old. It’s hard to believe so much time has gone by.

Just got back from a trip to Wisconsin. During the trip we had some great family time. We visited a state park, walked along Lake Michigan, ate frozen custard, and enjoyed the view of the farming countryside.

For me, this was the highlight of our trip to Washington. Karl and I left the boys with their Aunt and Uncle for two nights while we took off for a quick trip to Seattle, WA.

It was a great chance to spend some alone time and enjoy our friendship! We stayed in a nice hotel, visited the Pike Place Market, got to see the Space Needle, and walked through the Olympic Sculpture Park.

Our trip to Washington was a relaxing time of fellowship with my brother’s family, as well as a good time to share about our vision as missionaries with New Tribes Mission. We were able to see the dual nature of the state (arid vs. forest) as well as the culture of the various areas…

Getting back home was the craziest and started out at 5:00AM PST. The first part of the adventure, from Washington to Minnesota was the most normal part of it all. Minnesota to Chicago… easy as well. However, once we landed in Chicago things got exciting.
